A Sustainable Composite Cementitious Material Manufactured by Phosphogypsum Waste

The phosphogypsum is a by-product of the phosphate fertilizer industry. It has accumulated over several decades, and not only takes up large amount land, but also poses significant risk to environment resource waste. In order promote use phosphogypsum, its hydration hardening characteristics are studied using scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer mercury intrusion porosimeter. When increased, decreasing trend in reaction degree, non-evaporable water portlandite observed. Among them, degree water, flexural strength compressive reached their maximum when content was 10%, which were as follows: 22.34 %, 21.13 9.02 MPa 49.8 MPa, respectively. Meanwhile, can participate secondary system act microaggregate. addition no more than 30% enhance mechanical characteristics, reduce porosity, refine pore size distributions densify microstructure. findings this study may aid production phosphogypsum-based composite cementitious materials with superior performance, thereby promoting recycling protecting environment.
